Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Specialist

This role involves leading Zoox's strategic sourcing and industry partnerships in the Indirect Procurement space. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to understand needs for third-party engagement across the business, identify and evaluate potential partners and suppliers, draft and issue RFQs, negotiate key terms and conditions, manage commercial and supply chain issues, and oversee third-party relationships across various categories of spend.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support various departments in the procurement of engineering and professional services, with a focus on software development and safety consulting.
  • Inform internal stakeholders on supplier selection and management.
  • Identify sourcing alternatives to drive efficiencies via benchmarking, competitive quotes, and engineering changes.
  • Negotiate the cost and other terms and conditions of purchases by collaborating with stakeholders and the legal team.
  • Ensure a smooth procure-to-pay process by working with stakeholders and the finance team.
  • Own central reporting and planning processes to help the team scale, including Project Tracker, Quarterly Indirect Review Updates, Category Planning, Market Intelligence, and Spend Dashboards.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to Managers or Senior SSMs based on prioritization when large procurement or process efforts are not sufficiently resourced.

Requirements:
  • At least 4+ years of experience in procurement, program management, or business development in a technology-related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strategic sourcing, financial and business opportunity analysis, comfort with legal frameworks, and contract negotiation skills.
  • Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience procuring IT, software, hardware, marketing, professional services, and hardware design development and testing services.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Experience in contract drafting, redlining, and working cross-functionally with legal.
  • Process improvement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives.
  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills to manage and track transactional details.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Superior analytical skills.

Compensation for this position includes pay, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The pay range for this position is $127,000 to $182,000, and a sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level.
