Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Lead

About the Role:

Zoox is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our strategic sourcing efforts and developing industry partnerships in the Indirect Procurement space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support various departments in the procurement of engineering and professional services, with a focus on software development and safety consulting.
  • Support and inform internal stakeholders for supplier selection and management.
  • Identify sourcing alternatives to drive efficiencies via benchmarking, competitive quotes, and engineering changes.
  • Negotiate the cost and other terms and conditions of such purchases by collaborating with stakeholders and the legal team.
  • Ensure a smooth procure-to-pay process by working with stakeholders and the finance team.
  • Own all central reporting and planning processes that will help the team scale, such as Project Tracker, Quarterly Indirect Review Updates, Category Planning, Market Intelligence, and Spend Dashboards.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to Managers or Senior SSMs based on prioritization when large procurement or process efforts are not sufficiently resourced.

Requirements:

  • At least 4+ years of experience in procurement, program management, or business development in a technology-related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strategic sourcing, financial and business opportunity analysis, comfort with legal frameworks, and contract negotiation skills.
  • Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience procuring IT, software, hardware, marketing, professional service, and hardware design development and testing services.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Experience in contract drafting, redlining, and working cross-functionally with legal.
  • Process improvement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives.
  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills to manage and track transactional details.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Superior analytical skills.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $127,000 to $182,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level.
