Job Title: Medical Assistant II

Envision Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist clinical personnel during patient visits.
  • Perform basic medical procedures, including injections and blood draws, following standard operating procedures.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and lab work, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Complete requests for medical records and ensure all outside records are incorporated into the patient's chart or electronic health record.
  • Communicate with other Medical Assistants to ensure efficient patient flow and proper documentation of visits.
  • Adhere to urgent and add-on patient visit guidelines and communicate such visits to clinical staff per office protocols.
  • Prepare daily charts and maintain medical files and electronic medical records.
  • Scan outside reports, results, and labs into the appropriate sections of the electronic medical record.
  • Assist physician(s) with daily needs and interface with referring offices in obtaining referrals when needed.
  • Educate patients on procedures related to insurance requirements and self-pay patient contracts.
  • Send appropriate documentation to specialists/facilities and document action taken in the patient's medical record.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 2 or more years of Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Experience working in an OB/GYN or MFM office is preferred.
  • Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant certification or license is preferred.
