Job Title: Dining Room Attendant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dining Room Attendant to join our team at Los Dos Potrillos. As a Dining Room Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist servers with transporting dishes and/or service trays to and from the kitchen and dining room.
  • Complete all assigned opening and closing side work to prepare the dining room, kitchen, and gas stations for efficient operation during meal periods.
  • Clean and maintain all areas of the restaurant, including the kitchen, bar, lobby, break rooms, and grounds.
  • Collaborate with waiters to ensure tables are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for the next meeting.
  • Organize and prepare tables for scheduled meetings.
  • Serve chips, salsa, and ice water to customers.
  • Keep the bar full of supplies, including food such as chips, salsa, and drinks.
  • Keep the ice cube container full throughout the day.
  • Assist the server, bartender, and customers as needed throughout the meal period.
  • Keep an eye on the tables and alert the servers in case guests need spare parts for drinks or any other need.
  • Lift and carry the garbage from the restaurant and dispose of it in the appropriate areas.
  • Adhere to all the rules and procedures of the restaurant, paying special attention to health and safety procedures.
  • Clean and polish service bar doors and equipment, such as coffee urns, iced tea dispensers, and soda machines.
  • Report any problems or discrepancies to management immediately.
  • Communicate with the host/hostess and the manager when the tables have been cleared.
  • Apply knowledge of the full menu and other restaurant information.
  • Knowledge of hours, numbers of tables, sections, and type of payments.

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related to experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and measurement of weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply the understanding of common sense to carry out detailed but not involved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving some specific variables in standardized situations.
