We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the company's financial reporting requirements, GAAP position, and providing general support to the accounting team.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting packages
  • Responsible for Consolidated Financial Statements
  • Executing processes and procedures to comply with monthly financial statement close deadlines
  • Compiling monthly and quarterly variance analysis and explaining significant variances in financial statement accounts
  • Assisting with recording monthly journal entries and preparing related supporting schedules and account reconciliations
  • Reconciling intercompany receivable and payable accounts and ensuring intercompany balances are properly eliminated on a consolidated basis
  • Researching FASB and NAIC guidance and documenting accounting position
  • Staying up-to-date with current GAAP and statutory accounting guidance and upcoming proposed guidance
  • Assisting in the documentation and process flows of accounting policies
  • Assisting with independent auditors to facilitate a successful audit and providing documentation requests
  • Preparing quarterly financial institution required debt covenant calculations and support
  • Participating in special projects as needed and providing support to financial initiatives

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 6-8 years of accounting experience, with 2+ years specializing in financial reporting. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a master's degree preferred. A CPA certification is also preferred.
