As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and operation of our world-leading accelerators and detectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze complex data and perform engineering calculations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our accelerators and detectors.
  • Develop and implement designs for specific parts, components, or phases of projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Plan and execute projects from inception to completion, estimating manpower, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other team members, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Research and propose innovative solutions to engineering problems, analyzing alternatives and presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Participate in procurement, manufacturing, installation, testing, and operation of equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development of cost estimates and budget management, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial management.
  • Review and approve work before hardware and financial resources are committed, ensuring conformance to specifications and cost/time constraints.
  • Implement changes in methods, design, or equipment in assigned areas, contributing to the overall safety and completion of assignments.
  • Contribute to the development of lab-wide engineering policies, safety standards, and technical standards, serving on safety panels, review committees, and other subcommittees as assigned.
  • Participate in technical conferences and publications, sharing knowledge and expertise with the scientific community.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline with 8+ years of engineering experience, or a master's or PhD in an applicable engineering discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with the operation of particle accelerators and the specification of beam instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of the design and simulation of beam instrumentation detectors and signal processing circuitry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
