At Benihana Boca Raton, we are currently seeking a highly skilled Sushi Prep specialist to join our team.

Job Overview

This role is responsible for assisting the Sushi Chef in the preparation and production of sushi items for our guests.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry and be able to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful times.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a $40,000 - $60,000 per year estimated annual income, depending on location and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare all sushi items according to recipe requirements and adhere to product sensitivity and plate presentation guidelines.
  • Read tickets and prepare orders while working in front of guests at the sushi bar.
  • Coordinate tickets with service/kitchen staff and managers to ensure timely output of restaurant menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area throughout shift.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of station.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Able to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful times.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member's role in the guest dining experience.
  • Background knowledge of proper food preparation techniques and equipment usage.
  • Familiarity with industry standards on food storage and handling techniques is highly desirable.
  • Holds a state and/or local food handler's card where applicable.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
