Position Overview:

As a Culinary Operations Manager at Torchy's, you will oversee all Back of House (BOH) functions, ensuring a safe, organized, and impeccably clean kitchen environment. You will cultivate a culture of excellence, where only the highest quality food is served. We seek an individual who is not only passionate about culinary arts but also dedicated to mentoring and developing team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage food expenses, place orders, adjust pricing, and conduct inventory checks.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire all BOH staff to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Create and manage schedules for BOH team members to meet labor targets aligned with sales forecasts.
  • Ensure adherence to recipes, proper weighing of prepped items, accurate recording of production numbers, and correct portioning of servings.
  • Utilize feedback from Mystery Shops and the Damn Good Restaurant Assessment to formulate action plans that enhance operational efficiency and food quality.
  • Effectively communicate objectives and instructions to team members.
  • Inspire and lead the team in alignment with Torchy's core values.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth shift management.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to guarantee all BOH staff receive appropriate training and certification.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in kitchen management.
  • Possession of required state alcohol-server and Manager ServSafe Certifications.
  • Strong understanding of training and development principles.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and walk for long durations.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for items on shelves at various heights.
