The Product Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that our robot systems meet all applicable product compliance standards, regulations, and requirements for commercial deployments in multiple international markets. This includes promoting a culture of product stewardship within the company and ensuring that regulatory compliance requirements are captured and implemented during product development.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global EMC, safety, and environmental standards and regulations applicable to mobile robot systems. They will also have experience in advising teams across the organization on product regulatory requirements to guide the development, production, and deployment of compliant products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and promote product requirements pertaining to global EMC, safety, and environmental standards and regulations
- Advise teams on product regulatory requirements to guide development, production, and deployment of compliant products
- Drive the third-party agency product approval process, including preliminary investigations, developing product approval specifications, and coordinating test plans and results
- Maintain product compliance documentation and ensure balance between technical solutions, product compliance requirements, and business risk
- Participate in industry groups, surveillance, and analysis of applicable regulations to ensure submission requirements are current
- Manage changes in new product development and sustaining engineering from a product compliance perspective
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotic Engineering, or equivalent years of relevant industry experience focused on product compliance
- Demonstrated expertise in product safety, EMC, and environment regulations
- Experience distilling product compliance requirements from standards and regulations
- Experience supporting product compliance and certification programs, including test planning and staging, hands-on support at external labs, agencies, customers, etc.
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Authorization to work in the USA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degrees with professional engineering experience
- Experience with a range of domestic and non-domestic product compliance requirements
- Experience working with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories
- Five years of experience working with third-party regulatory agency standards
- Demonstrated ability to own an assignment and see it through to completion
