Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer

Agility Robotics is a pioneer in robotics innovation, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead our robotics design efforts. As a key member of our mechanical engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced robotics systems that meet the complex requirements of our customers.
About the Role:
We are currently designing the next generation of Digit, our flagship robot, for commercial-scale deployment. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the unique requirements of our products and ensure that we have robust and production-ready designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of robotics systems, including mechanism design, packaging, and integration with electrical and software components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering specifications with product requirements and ensure successful deployment of our robots.
- Drive engineering specifications from product requirements and work cross-functionally to align engineering specifications with different domains.
- Create subsystem CAD and ensure quality.
- Lead cross-functional design reviews and drive the development of specifications, requirements, test methods, and protocols through formal verification to ensure functionality, safety, and efficacy of design.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience with 2+ years of robotics design experience.
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent, minimum requirement).
- Demonstrated experience designing and building mechanisms and assemblies, ideally with a background in robotics.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and team development.
- Ability to be on-site at Agility's design facility as needed (minimum 4 days per month and as needed to support design activities, reviews, prototype testing, etc.).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Robotics experience and leadership in a robotics organization.
- Advanced degree in engineering or science or robotics.
- Jira/Confluence experience.
- PLM and PDM experience.
- Creo experience.
