We are currently in search of a Estimating Specialist who will take charge of evaluating blueprints, specifications, proposals, and various documentation to compile distinct material requirements for the projects we are bidding on.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of blueprints and specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project. Identify any discrepancies and communicate them effectively with relevant departments.
- Organize materials into a price-able format by department. Any inquiries regarding the bidding process for specific project components should be directed to the appropriate department within the organization.
- Engage with pricing departments to discuss the materials necessary for the project.
- Address and resolve discrepancies and inaccuracies in collaboration with sales teams, architects, and contractors, utilizing sound judgment to determine the best resolution approach.
- Examine amendments and addenda to revise take-offs with updated information, which may include revisions, rebids, or entirely new plans for the project. Additionally, there may be requests to categorize project components differently or to incorporate various product types.
- Oversee the prioritization and management of bid submission timelines.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to learn additional software utilized by LaForce.
- Successful completion of a drug screen, background check, and driver's license verification.
