Job Overview:
The Reliability Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the dependability and longevity of both new and existing machinery. This position is integral to spearheading enhancements in processes and products, serving as a technical advisor to the operations team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop preventive maintenance strategies and inventory lists for spare parts.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses to identify and resolve equipment issues, aiming to maximize operational uptime and efficiency.
  • Create and implement innovative maintenance protocols and standardized repair procedures.
  • Design and establish new methods for monitoring and evaluating equipment performance.
  • Explore and integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to embed reliability principles throughout the organization.
  • Oversee a range of capital and non-capital projects, acting as Project Manager or Lead, utilizing project management fundamentals such as scope definition, specification, design review, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members, delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Coordinate contractor activities and manage daily operations to ensure timely project completion.
  • Enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency through data analysis and experimental assessments.
  • Implement strategies to boost profitability by optimizing efficiency, including waste reduction, speed enhancement, and raw material utilization, following Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Manage the standardization and implementation of manufacturing process improvements and tooling.
  • Conduct work measurement studies, including time and process capability assessments, to achieve predetermined objectives before formally transferring projects to manufacturing.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, potentially serving as a facilitator for teams.
  • Incorporate safety measures into all departmental activities, ensuring safe working conditions within the manufacturing environment.
  • Research, justify, design, and implement new processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Engage in procurement activities, including soliciting and evaluating bids, and making recommendations for purchases.
  • Design corrective measures and conduct engineering trials to validate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience in leading diverse projects, including major equipment outages and the installation of new machinery and processes.
  • Proficient in conducting root cause analyses (8D, 5 Whys) and implementing preventive measures.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and analytical abilities.
