As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide direct nursing care to patients with neurological medical and surgical conditions, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide Direct Nursing Care: Implement and monitor patient care plans, administering prescribed medications and treatments as needed.
- Monitor and Document Patient Condition: Record and communicate patient condition to the healthcare team, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Evaluate and Update Patient Care Plans: Assess patient progress, revising care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Coordinate Patient Care: Serve as a primary coordinator for all disciplines, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Administer Medications and Treatments: Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
- Communicate with Patients and Families: Provide education and support to patients and families, ensuring understanding of treatment plans and care.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), and other certifications as required by the unit or department.
- Experience: Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting, with experience in a neurological step-down unit preferred.
