Medical Assistant Position Overview

Summary: The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals by facilitating patient care, managing documentation, and ensuring efficient patient interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess certification as a Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse with current CPR certification
  • Experience with electronic health records and a background in customer service is preferred

Primary Duties:

  • Assisting medical staff during examinations and procedures
  • Administering prescribed medications and injections as directed
  • Maintaining a clean and organized environment in examination rooms and with medical equipment
  • Documenting patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system
  • Preparing patients and examination areas for various procedures
  • Upholding patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Records systems
  • Exceptional customer service abilities
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a busy setting
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize medical emergencies

Work Environment: The role is situated within a medical office environment equipped with standard office and medical apparatus.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs and remain on foot for the majority of the workday.
