Overview

The Hospice Registered Nurse - PRN plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care and support to patients and their families. This position is designed to accommodate the scheduling needs of the healthcare team, ensuring that the care plan aligns with the patient's preferences and requirements. The RN collaborates closely with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to address all aspects of the patient's healthcare, including symptom management and treatment provision.

Location: Arlington, VA

Schedule: PRN: 2-3 days per week

COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory upon commencement

Responsibilities

The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) PRN is tasked with delivering high-quality nursing care, providing education to patients and families, and maintaining accurate documentation as required. The RN PRN is also responsible for overseeing the work of LPNs, CNAs, and Volunteers, as necessary. There may be occasions to rotate to different regions or departments as needed.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements
A minimum of one year of experience as a staff nurse in a similar healthcare setting is required. Experience in hospice and/or palliative care is highly preferred.

Education Requirements
Candidates must possess a degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Required Certificates and/or Licenses
Candidates must hold a valid nursing license from the appropriate governing body for practice in the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, depending on the jurisdiction of practice. Licensure from a compact state is acceptable. A Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) certification is required for practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. A CHPN certification is advantageous.

Driver's License

Candidates must possess a valid driver's license in good standing and have access to a vehicle during working hours.
