Job Summary

The Pediatric Dental Assistant will be an integral member of the 7th Floor Clinical team at Boston University, providing support to residents and faculty for quality dental care to patients. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, promote teamwork among staff and faculty, and strive to make each phase of the patient treatment process a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Taking radiographs and supervising residents regarding proper radiograph techniques during clinical rotations
  • Assisting residents in the Pediatric Clinic with various dental procedures, demonstrating strong clinical skills and practicing four-handed dentistry
  • Preparing operatories for treatment, ensuring cleanliness and disinfection between patients, and adhering to infection control guidelines and regulations
  • Patient scheduling and ordering of supplies
  • Preparing patients for treatment and delivering oral hygiene instructions
  • Demonstrating practice management skills by contacting patients and reviewing schedules for optimal utilization

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Vocational/Technical Degree required
  • 1-3 years work experience
