Key Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Aide, you will be tasked with a variety of essential duties including:

1. Performing repairs and installations for various equipment and structural components such as floors, walls, and ceilings.
2. Ensuring cleanliness and safety in your work area, utilizing tools and equipment properly.
3. Maintaining the overall safety and security of the healthcare facility, including its furnishings and equipment.
4. Conducting regular inspections of equipment and adhering to maintenance inspection protocols while addressing daily maintenance requests across departments.
5. Executing necessary repairs within the building, which may include painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical work, and more.
6. Carrying out generator tests, fire drills, and inspections of patient lifts, oxygen concentrators, suction machines, fire extinguishers, and sharps containers, as well as monitoring water temperatures.
7. Responding to maintenance calls and requests promptly and effectively.
8. Assisting in the transportation of staff as needed.
9. Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Valid NYS Driver's License.
- Ability to work with tools, ladders, and maintenance supplies as directed.
- Capacity to work independently while collaborating with departmental heads and other staff.
- Problem-solving skills related to maintenance requests.
- Good physical strength for lifting and other related tasks.
- Respect for residents' privacy and rights, with a display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly.
- Ability to read and comprehend work assignments, and provide verbal and written documentation as necessary.
- Commitment to high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness in all tasks.
- Demonstrated responsibility and diplomacy in the workplace.
