Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively executes assigned tasks including the repair and installation of various equipment, flooring, walls, ceilings, and more.
- Maintains cleanliness in the work area and ensures the safe and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Ensures the overall safety and security of the facility, including furnishings and equipment.
- Conducts regular inspections of equipment and adheres to facility maintenance inspection protocols while addressing daily maintenance requests across departments.
- Performs essential repairs within the building, which may include painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical work, ceiling tile replacement, and window repairs.
- Conducts generator testing, fire drills, and checks/maintains patient lifts, oxygen concentrators, suction machines, fire extinguishers, and sharps container inspections.
- Handles maintenance calls and requests, performing necessary repairs promptly.
- Transports staff as needed using the facility vehicle.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer service skills are essential.
- Valid NYS Driver's License required.
- Ability to work with tools, ladders, and maintenance supplies as directed.
- Capable of working independently while collaborating with departmental heads and other staff.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills in addressing maintenance requests.
- Good physical strength for lifting and related tasks.
- Respect for residents' privacy and rights, with a display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly.
- Ability to read and comprehend work assignments, as well as provide verbal and written documentation as needed.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness.
- Exhibits responsibility and diplomacy in all interactions.
