Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively execute assigned tasks, including the repair and installation of various equipment, flooring, walls, ceilings, and more.
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area and ensure the safe and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Oversee the general safety and security of the facility, including furnishings and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and adhere to facility maintenance processes while addressing daily maintenance requests across departments.
- Perform essential repairs to the building, which may include painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical work, ceiling tile replacement, and window/screen repairs.
- Carry out generator testing, fire drills, and inspections of patient lifts, oxygen concentrators, suction machines, fire extinguishers, and sharps containers, as well as monitoring water temperatures to ensure safety.
- Respond to maintenance calls and requests, executing necessary repairs promptly.
- Transport staff to designated locations using the facility vehicle.
- Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License.
- Ability to work with tools, ladders, and maintenance supplies as required.
- Capable of working independently while collaborating with departmental heads and other staff members.
- Strong problem-solving skills related to maintenance requests.
- Good physical strength for heavy lifting and related tasks.
- Respect for residents' privacy and rights, with a genuine concern for the elderly.
- Ability to read and comprehend work assignments, along with providing verbal and written documentation as needed.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness in all tasks.
- Exhibit qualities of responsibility and diplomacy.
