Job Summary

Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide clinical support to our healthcare team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Support: Provide clinical support to healthcare providers and nursing staff, including performing screening tests, ordering lab work, and completing treatment procedures as ordered by providers.
  • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients seeking and receiving care, and provide support to medical assistants.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, including placing orders for imaging studies, performing triage functions, and administering medications and immunizations.
  • Education and Training: Contribute to in-service education and help identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Provide supportive nursing counseling related to common acute medical problems and primary preventative care for patients.
Requirements
  • Education: LPN graduate from an accredited school and registered as an LPN in the State of Connecticut.
  • Experience: Experience in internal medicine, surgical specialties, long-term care, or rehabilitation required. Experience performing EKGs and triaging patients also required.
  • Certifications: CPR certification required.
  • Language Skills: Bi-lingual Spanish speaking highly desirable.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn Centricity and Yale EPIC.
