Position Overview:


The BSA/AML Quality Assurance Specialist reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and is tasked with evaluating the design and effectiveness of critical processes and controls related to the bank's BSA/AML and OFAC compliance responsibilities for both first and second lines of defense.

This role collaborates with various personnel across business lines to conduct thorough assessments of BSA/AML topics throughout the organization.


In addition to the key responsibilities outlined below, this position is expected to embody the values that WaFd Bank emphasizes, particularly the importance of kindness in interactions with colleagues and clients.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research, planning, and assist in compliance evaluations in line with relevant policies and procedures for the first and second lines of defense within designated testing timelines to ensure adherence to BSA/AML and OFAC regulations;

2. Prepare organized and comprehensive testing documentation to support the work performed and conclusions drawn;

3. Address any outstanding issues identified during testing and ensure that corresponding action plans are implemented;

4. Draft detailed reports summarizing review findings that clearly outline identified issues and necessary corrective actions;

5. Organize and present management information related to completed testing reviews, identified issues, pending action plans, and progress made against objectives;

6. Undertake special projects as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager, BSA Officer, or their designee.


Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures established to meet Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations.

Additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree

- 3-5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in Audit or Testing roles;

- Relevant industry certifications in AML (ACAMS) are preferred;

- Strong organizational abilities and a willingness to take ownership of tasks;

- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal oversight;

- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills;

- Background in AML, KYC, Sanctions, Compliance, or Investigative roles is preferred.
