Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Chemistry courses at various times and locations. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field and have a strong commitment to student-centered learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

This is a part-time position, with a maximum of five classes per academic year. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to diversity and academic excellence.

Responsibilities

The Adjunct Faculty member will be responsible for:

  • Teaching Chemistry courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Creating engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Submitting required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilizing a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attending meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
