Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor and oversee the safety practices of contractors performing construction work on-site.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Identify unsafe work conditions or practices, intervene to correct hazards, and escalate as needed.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans, including emergency evacuation, fire, medical, and rescue protocols.
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for contractors and personnel as required.
  • Support incident response efforts, including providing first aid or assisting with case management for work-related injuries.
  • Collaborate with the on-site safety lead to ensure all safety procedures and documentation are up to date.
  • Work closely with external agencies (e.g., medical, fire, and rescue services) to coordinate emergency response plans.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the field, serving as a resource and point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Must have OSHA 30 certification.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in industrial or power plant settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Ability to identify hazards in the field and take proactive measures to correct unsafe conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise feedback to contractors and workers.
  • Experience working with external agencies to develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on fieldwork rather than office tasks.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in coordinating with medical professionals and managing work-related injury cases.
