We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Safety Specialist to join our team at Buffalo Construction, Inc. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety of our employees, contractors, and clients on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Safety Promoter to develop and implement safety policies, programs, and training.
- Partner with project teams to educate and coach safety best practices, promoting a positive safety culture and preventing incidents.
- Conduct job site safety audits, identifying and evaluating hazardous conditions and practices, and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide feedback to field teams on their safety performance and demonstrate correct usage of PPE and safety equipment when needed.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify causes and prevent future occurrences.
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or construction sciences, with a certificate from a recognized safety professional's organization.
- 3+ years of experience in a construction or industrial safety role, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations in construction and the ability to think creatively in providing effective solutions to complex problems.
- Familiarity with various safety software used to perform field audits.
- Certification from BCSP as a CHST, ASP, GSP, or CSP.
- Experience with auditing and construction management software, such as Procore, Safety Reports, Insight, or similar apps.
- Experience with OSHA inspections and citation process, as well as training certification for M.E.W.P. and forklift meeting new ANSI standards.
- Training certification for 1st aid/CPR/AED and BBP, with experience or ability to demonstrate strong safety leadership and creative problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1926.
