Job SummaryReporting to the Engineering Organization, the Project Manager will manage New Product Development and product enhancement projects to successful and timely commercial Launches.
Responsibilities include the management of multiple projects and ongoing operational activities.
Key Responsibilities- Projects will be executed in accordance with company procedures and the Stage Gate approval process. The Project Manager will contribute to the definition of project strategy and guide the project core and sub-teams to deliver on project objectives.
- The Project Manager will work with other project team members to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the overall project.
Building and managing project teams, reporting to the Project Stakeholder, and ensuring quality control throughout the product life cycles are central to this position.
Requirements- Be accountable for project results along with the product leadership team.
- Develop and manage a product roadmap with high-level milestone plans, resources, and budget information using goals and objectives for the product line, applicable historical information, and other available resources in order to align project objectives with expectations of sponsors and stakeholders.
- Execute product lifecycle plans (quality, risk, communication, staffing, etc.) by using standard processes and tools and by auditing the results of their use in order to align the project outcomes with stakeholder expectations and standards.
- Manage project change in accordance with the change management process to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts.
- Address project issues by identifying and selecting a course of action that takes into account the project constraints and objectives in order to enable continued project progress.
- Motivate the team using appropriate tools and techniques in order to increase commitment to the project objectives.
- Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with other team members.
- Capture Project status and data by ensuring the population of the Project management information system in order to maintain accurate and current Project information for the use of stakeholders.
- Recognizes contributions, praises people for a job well done.
- Supports team building, builds mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members.
- Address project issues by identifying and selecting a course of action by taking into account the project constraints and objectives in order to enable continued Project progress.
- Determine if external consultants or contractors will be required to complete project plan. If required, recruit and manage appropriate staffing resources.
- Track and report on project milestones and measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the projects, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
- Improve team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency, and boost morale.
- Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved.
- Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.
- Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members.
- 3-4 years' work experience in project management
- 3 years of experience with product line
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- PMI Certification is a major asset
