Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Social Worker to join our team at Johns Hopkins HealthCare. As an Addictions Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the clinical care journey for patients, collaborating closely with the Nurse Manager and Clinical Director to drive the seamless implementation of patient care plans from admission to discharge.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of patients and families, identifying strengths, coping strategies, and areas necessitating intervention.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans, aligning interventions with the unique mental health needs and goals of each patient.
  • Provide evidence-based individual and family counseling to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Offer immediate crisis intervention to those facing acute emotional distress or psychiatric emergencies.
  • Empower patients and families with knowledge about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to bolster coping skills and support recovery.
  • Ensure effective discharge planning, facilitating a seamless transition to appropriate levels of care or community resources upon discharge.
  • Champion the rights and needs of patients and families, facilitating access to vital services and support.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning sessions to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Maintain rigorous and timely clinical documentation, adhering to hospital and legal guidelines.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college/university.
  • MSW required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in substance abuse and psychiatric illness.
  • Experience in both individual and group therapy.
  • Current Maryland License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Certified (LCSW-C).
  • Current CPR certification.
Compensation

Minimum $31.45 per hour - Maximum $51.91 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
