Position Overview

Available Roles

Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, this position entails performing audiological evaluations and delivering services to students enrolled in Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing educational programs.

This role also encompasses follow-up assessments for children with hearing challenges within special education frameworks across the region.

Moreover, providing guidance to parents regarding assessment outcomes, maintenance of hearing devices, and auditory training techniques is a vital component of this role.

Training educational staff on the use of cochlear implants and the upkeep of hearing aids may also be part of the responsibilities. The roles are itinerant in nature and primarily based in the local area.

Qualifications

Educational Background and Credentials:

  • Valid California credential(s) or equivalent as per regulations, including a Master's Degree in Audiology and a Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential in Audiology.
  • Ideally holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology.
  • Experience in pediatric audiology or educational audiology is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hearing aids, auditory training methods, and electroacoustic tools.

Professional Experience:

  • At least three years of experience delivering audiological services in Special Education environments for students of varying ages.
  • Demonstrated ability to create goals and objectives for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Experience working collaboratively with California Children's Services is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess a personal vehicle, a valid California driver's license, and current automobile insurance with minimum coverage.
  • Fingerprint clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and California Department of Justice is required.
