Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee (SUDP/T)

The Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee (SUDP/T) will be responsible for providing direct counseling services to patients at our Renacer Youth Treatment Center in Seattle, WA.

This role requires the counselor to work one-on-one or in groups with patients, performing assessments, evaluations, and intakes. Services will be provided to adults, youth, and their families, who may have primary diagnoses of chemical dependency and emerging mental health issues.

The ideal candidate will subscribe to the disease concept of chemical dependency and understand the importance of total abstinence for ongoing recovery from alcoholism and other drug addiction.

The SUDP will also provide clinical supervision to SUD Trainees if assigned by the Program Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or Behavioral Health Regional Director.

The position will require working with and supporting other Sea Mar employees and patients to help fulfill the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling services to patients
  • Perform assessments, evaluations, and intakes
  • Work with patients in one-on-one or group settings
  • Provide clinical supervision to SUD Trainees if assigned

Requirements:

  • Must possess the required college certificate qualifying as a SUDP
  • Must have a Substance Use Disorder Professional license from the Department of Health
  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree
  • Mid-level job requiring up to three years' experience
