About the Role

Hartford HealthCare (HHC) is seeking a highly skilled General Surgery Physician Assistant to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a key member of our General Surgery department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in an ambulatory setting, including new patient consults, short and long-term post-operative follow up, inpatient transition of care rounding, and coordination of patient care across multiple disciplines.
  • Assist with system quality initiatives and participate in ongoing educational opportunities to ensure you're always practicing with the most cutting-edge technology.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Develop long-term relationships with patients and their families across the continuum of care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Master's program.
  • Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in the state of Connecticut.
  • Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant, or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN).
  • Previous surgical experience in plastics, general, or colorectal surgery preferred.
