Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Control Technician to join our team at Stryten Energy. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical and control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with controls engineers to develop long-term solutions for automation issues
  • Implement and maintain zero-injury workplace practices, minimizing Pb blood level exposure levels
  • Coordinate and deliver maintenance training programs related to electrical and control systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, and digital/analog I/O
  • Identify and implement best practices to reduce equipment downtime and maintenance costs
  • Seek out unsolicited automation and control projects to improve plant performance
  • Utilize Work Order software and other computer programs as required
  • Support new installations, improvements, and optimization projects across the plant
  • Provide programming, debugging, and troubleshooting support for factory automation systems
  • Develop and implement programming modifications to improve plant performance and simplify operator intervention
  • Provide hardware and software support to the plant automation network
  • Assist in developing documentation for new and existing plant automation and control systems
  • Maintain current program versions for all plant automation equipment
  • Develop and implement plans to optimize and modernize existing plant control systems
  • Provide operational support and implement modifications to plant robot, machine vision, and machine automation systems
  • Collect and analyze data to SQL server platform, providing insights for plant operations
  • Participate in plant shutdown activities and contribute to continuous improvement in the Maintenance department
  • Comply with current Quality Systems requirements and understand marketplace trends
  • Support Toyota Production Systems (TPS) objectives and guidelines, including Kaizen events
  • Complete hazardous waste training and adhere to proper management practices
Requirements
  • 2-year degree in industrial electronics and controls or 10 years of industrial electrical and controls experience
  • At least 5 years of experience with Allen Bradley Programmed Logic Control related products and ladder diagram logic
  • Above-average troubleshooting skills and computer skills, including Microsoft products and PLC programming
  • Familiarity with common hand tool usage and power tools
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions and wear PPE
