Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support for daily maintenance activities and other duties as assigned by the departmental head and departmental managers. This includes ensuring plant equipment reliability and adding value by integrating plant assets, personnel, and technology within the EG units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform front-end engineering studies and create cost/value-added tasks required for projects.
  • Prepare and review the scope of work for DDE (Detail Design Engineering) to ensure project requirements for electrical equipment meet operational goals.
  • Periodically meet with DDE to review project activities and engineering specifications.
  • Perform technical calculations and analysis.
  • Review and comment on engineering design drawings.
  • Prepare and review electrical specifications for electrical material/equipment procurement.
  • Review vendor quotations and evaluate vendor qualification.
  • Report engineering evaluation progress and equipment delivery status.
  • Prepare and evaluate bid packages.
  • Review engineering drawings and collect relative construction information to make adjustments.
  • Create a scope of work that covers all job loads and special requirements.
  • Cooperate with DDE, contractors, and supporting departments to clarify design constructability, construction interfaces, schedule, and construction cost.
  • Properly use COQ (Clarification of Qualification) to convey a clear scope of work and avoid potential change orders.
  • Create and track a complete project schedule from design through start-up.
  • Accurately quantify, plan, and track progress of engineering, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Assess changes and their potential impact on construction and operations.
  • Perform Quality audits based on construction codes, OSHA standards, and FPC Procedures.
  • Oversee testing and turnover of quality documents from construction to operations.
  • Effectively plan and oversee commissioning activities and Pre-Start Up Safety review functions.
  • Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance program.
  • Emphasize the Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program.
  • Maintain the plant in like new condition.
Requirements:
  • No experience is necessary; experience in Electrical Maintenance or other plant manufacturing is preferred.
  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering; other related engineering disciplines considered.
