Job Summary:

As a Phlebotomist at Fairfield Medical Center, you will play a vital role in our laboratory team. Your primary responsibility will be to collect and process patient specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and process patient specimens, including venous and capillary collections.
  • Provide staff support for outpatient collection locations as needed.
  • Perform order entry and specimen processing to ensure sample integrity and proper patient information.
  • Collect EKGs, culture collections, BATs, and Chain-of-Custody Drug Collections as needed.
  • Collect specimens for Nursing home and Health Screenings for FMC sponsored community events as needed.
  • Maintain proper competency and education as required for the position.
  • Provide customer service, clerical tasks, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a certified phlebotomy program required.
  • National phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in phlebotomy preferred.
