Surgical Technologist Level 2

Our Level I Trauma Center provides around-the-clock care in adult, pediatric, psychiatric, and pediatric psychiatric emergencies, as well as in cardiology, neurology, toxicology, and neonatology.
Job Summary:Under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, surgeon, or other healthcare professional, you will serve as part of a medical team providing surgical care to patients. Your role will involve facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare the Cath/EP room and sterile field for EP procedures, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and safely.
- Assist healthcare professionals in receiving, labeling, and verifying sterile solutions and medications to be administered during surgery.
- Verify patient identity, correct surgical site, and correct surgical procedure.
- Assist in moving and positioning patients for procedures, adhering to established safety guidelines.
- Engage in appropriate gowning and gloving procedures in the perioperative setting.
- Assist healthcare professionals in performing non-invasive preparation of the skin's surface and draping patients for procedures.
- Anticipate instrument needs and assist MDs throughout the operative procedure.
- Documented designation of Grandfathered status as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technologists in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
- Holds and maintains a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
