Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with Radiologist protocols. They follow established radiographic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general imaging, including specialty imaging such as Orthopedics
  • Position imaging equipment and adjust techniques as appropriate to patient body habitus
  • Perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing as ordered by providers
  • Record, process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical record and PACs System
  • Complete all image processing procedures and QC testing, following Radiologist protocols to ensure images are of diagnostic quality
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations, ensuring the safety of patients and staff
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding, and address any questions or concerns
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited or approved program in Radiological Technology
  • 1-3 years of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology; clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience
  • Less than 1 year of phlebotomy and basic lab testing experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to provide patient care
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
  • Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level
  • Possess skills to effectively problem solve
  • Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication
Licenses and Certifications
  • The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
  • Radiographer License issued by the state of WI
  • CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program
