Job Title: Property Management Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Property Management Accountant to join our team at Commercial and Residential Management Group (CRMG). As a key member of our Accounting Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting procedures for our affordable properties in Yardi Property Management Software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and audit monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Record and process monthly adjusting and accrual entries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor cash balances and accounts to prevent overdrafts and ensure financial stability.
  • Prepare and send monthly financial statements to clients with supporting documents.
  • Identify and correct errors in accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in daily, monthly, and annual audits to maintain financial integrity.
  • Record and audit invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process final accounting for residents/tenants who move out, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Monitor tenant accounts for overages/shortages and past-due amounts, sending notices as needed.
  • Process payables, coding them correctly, and write and send checks on a consistent basis.
Requirements:
  • A degree in accounting or a minimum of three years of accounting experience.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of Yardi Property Management software experience is preferred.
  • Previous accounting for affordable housing or subsidies experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and TEAMS).
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks using strong organizational skills, excellent time management, and critical thinking to solve problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed and high attention to detail.
