The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in facilitating the implementation of operational strategies that enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the store. This position is particularly focused on driving revenue growth, maximizing profitability, maintaining exceptional presentation standards, delivering outstanding customer experiences, ensuring safety and security, and upholding high standards in associate recruitment, retention, and performance, all while positioning Shopsteins as the leading garden and home center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Foster a workplace culture that embodies and passionately promotes the vision, mission, and values of Shopsteins.
- Assist the Store Manager in achieving optimal financial outcomes by consistently surpassing customer expectations while ensuring excellence in store operations.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of and assist in the daily execution of the store's financial objectives, budget, company initiatives, programs, and policies in alignment with the organization's vision, mission, and values.
- Implement all company merchandising and marketing strategies, ensuring accurate and timely execution, feedback, and setup.
- Monitor daily store performance, regularly review key performance indicators with the Store Manager, share successes, identify opportunities, and collaborate on solutions to meet business objectives.
- Oversee store processes such as inventory management, staff scheduling, customer service, and housekeeping while driving process improvements.
- Ensure timely communication and implementation of company initiatives, objectives, programs, and policies.
- Encourage a culture of open communication among staff to promote positive morale, creative ideation, and effective conflict resolution for the benefit of associates, customers, and the organization.
- Meet all compliance and regulatory requirements, including hiring practices, benefit administration, and labor laws.
- Lead safety and security initiatives to create a safe environment for both customers and associates.
- Identify and report any deficiencies in property, equipment, or fixtures to the Store Manager to develop proactive improvement plans.
- Manage staffing levels, associate development, knowledge retention, and succession planning while upholding the company's vision and values.
- Safeguard company assets, including physical structures, vehicles, equipment, inventory, personnel, and financial resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory.
General knowledge of key retail metrics and consumer trends.
Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with store personnel, vendors, and corporate leadership.
Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office, Inventory, and POS software).
Excellent collaborative, motivational, and communication skills.
Ability to influence others through analytical skills and experience in leading teams to achieve results.
Demonstrated capability to lead and develop associates while providing coaching and support.
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while ensuring a superior customer experience.
May be required to support other store locations as necessary to meet business needs.

While performing the duties of this position, the associate is frequently required to sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, walk, and communicate.
