Per Diem Chaplain, Pastoral Care Specialist, Mount Sinai Morningside

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Chaplain to join our team at Mount Sinai Morningside. As a member of our Pastoral Care and Education department, you will provide spiritual support to patients, families, and staff throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Visit patients on assigned floors and provide spiritual support and guidance.
- Assess patient and family spiritual and/or religious needs and develop appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in on-call rotation and maintain relationships with medical staff, nursing staff, and other departments.
- Provide care and support to hospital staff and participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
- Liaise with hospital priests and community clergy to ensure patients' religious needs are met.
- Mentor and orient clinical pastoral education students and teach didactics as requested.
- Participate in organizing and leading holiday services, memorials, and special events.
- Fulfill documentation requirements and present on spiritual care topics to outside departments and/or units.
- Masters degree with a focus in theology or related fields preferred.
- Successful completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education in an accredited program preferred.
- 2 years of direct chaplaincy experience preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
