Job Summary:
As a Radiology Tech at Northern Maine Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate imaging equipment to perform radiologic procedures with minimal supervision, ensuring patient safety and optimal results.
  • Review medical records for patient history and pertinent clinical information, transferring patients to imaging tables and explaining procedures as needed.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals as authorized by the Radiologist, recognizing and responding to hypersensitivity and/or allergic reactions.
  • Review studies for overall quality, operating computers associated with imaging equipment to produce, process, and optimize clinical data.
  • Perform quality control procedures on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and Joint Commission standards of care.
  • Organize daily work schedules and respond to emergencies as necessary, demonstrating competency in the use of Radiology Information Systems and other computer systems.
  • Interact professionally with patients, colleagues, and other co-workers to effectively complete daily tasks.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program and continuing education activities as required.
  • Perform on-call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet the needs of the department.
  • Maintain supply inventory and order supplies when necessary.
  • Work as a member of the Radiology team to reinforce a culture of safety in the department and organization-wide.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical information.

Requirements:
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the State of Maine.
  • Must maintain current CPR certification.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  1. Must be capable of transporting patients, lifting, and assisting others in lifting to assist patients.
  2. Lifting and filing of film requires bending and lifting overhead as needed.
