Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

UPMC Life Changing Medicine is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technologist to enhance their team of medical professionals.
This position will work varying shifts to support department needs, performing imaging procedures at an advanced level with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform or assist Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
- Perform all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.
- Demonstrate competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyze data promptly. Perform electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.
- Monitor quality control activities and demonstrate advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up-to-date protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrate ability to function independently and cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
- Participate in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
- Work directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
- Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
- Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.
- ARRT Certificate. ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
