We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at Primal Pet Group. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Employee Relations
- Collaborate with management to foster a positive and inclusive company culture that promotes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Provide expert guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Develop and implement employee communication strategies to enhance engagement and transparency.
- Conduct thorough investigations, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Ensure seamless off-boarding processes and data updates.
- Compliance
- Contribute to the development of HR business strategy and goal setting.
- Compile and report HR and Environmental, Health, and Safety data.
- Develop and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legal requirements and company policies.
- Oversee the annual performance review process and data collection.
- Manage employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA and other statutory leave requirements.
- Process Personnel Change Notice forms and update HRIS data.
- Prepare documentation for investigations, appeals, and hearings as needed.
- Collaborate with outside counsel on employment-related issues.
- Update and revise the employee handbook as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with EEO, AAP, FLSA, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for worker's compensation accidents, injuries, or related incidents.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Administer employee group benefits and conduct open enrollment meetings.
- Counsel employees on benefit-related issues.
- Ensure accuracy of and process employee benefits paperwork.
- Assist with payroll processing and training.

- Support internal audits as needed.
- Assist with recruitment, orientation, and onboarding processes.
- Use initiative to independently perform recurring office work with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and Experience
- BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a high-growth production or manufacturing environment, with a focus on Human Resources.
- Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of federal and state laws related to employment and labor (FSLA, EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.) regulations and compliance.
- Broad understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Language Skills
- Ability to read, speak, and communicate in English across all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
