The role encompasses executing vulnerability assessments, tracking the status of Plans of Action and Milestones, and delivering technical assistance for cybersecurity initiatives. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, complemented by substantial experience in cybersecurity within a DoD context. Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are crucial for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute vulnerability and compliance assessments
  • Monitor and report on vulnerabilities and non-compliant configurations
  • Gather information and documentation pertinent to NIST and NIST accreditation
  • Document advancements on sanctioned Plans of Action and Milestones
  • Conduct risk evaluations for system modifications
  • Oversee security toolsets for any malicious activities
  • Provide recommendations for Configuration Management
  • Assist in monitoring alerts and managing security apparatus
  • Support accredited systems and maintain security tools such as Nessus Security Center

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity within a DoD environment
  • At least 5 years of experience in Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) roles
  • Compliance with DoD Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II
  • Possession of DoD TS/SCI Clearances is mandatory
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Experience with government compliance and policy certifications
