Key Responsibilities
  • Perform armed patrol of San Diego Bay and Port tidelands to maintain security and order
  • Respond to and investigate calls for service regarding criminal, non-criminal, or emergency-related activities
  • Conduct case or incident investigations and related follow-up activities
  • Provide information and assistance to the public
  • Participate in community relations and public education and awareness activities
Requirements
  • Graduation from a POST certified police academy
  • Current, valid California Class C driver's license
  • Ability to swim and participate in water-based activities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in stressful situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions

The work environment is primarily outdoor, with exposure to noise and outside weather conditions. The employee may be required to travel to locations other than assigned work site and to adjust to work schedule changes and requirements to work extended hours.
