Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FEA Engineer to lead structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis of touch sensor, flat panel display, and their integration processes. As a key member of our team, you will drive analysis of groundbreaking designs, enabling early material, process, and structural design optimization, as well as root cause and failure analysis of challenging mechanical problems.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate FEA/analytical models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies.
- Perform static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical analysis.
- Own and drive material characterization and testing plans to support modeling efforts, with a working knowledge of adhesive materials, ACF materials, and flat panel display materials.
- Own, drive, and execute consistent methods of modeling and analysis of modules across programs.
- Coordinate and work with other analysts to integrate module models into larger system assemblies.
- Communicate and report analysis results to the team, as well as multi-functional peers and management on a regular basis.
- Drive failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments to resolve difficult problems.
- Brainstorm and propose solutions to problems based on analysis data.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, or Mechanics of Materials.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in sophisticated FEA simulation in industrial settings.
- Solid fundamentals in mechanics of materials and ability to comprehend sophisticated physical mechanisms using 1st principles.
- Proficient in FEA software Abaqus (Implicit & Explicit) or ANSYS.
- Experience in static, dynamic, and thermal-mechanical simulations to tackle practical engineering problems in industrial settings.
- Knowledge and practical experience in material constitutive models, including metals, brittles, plastics, and adhesives.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset to optimally work with internal and multi-functional team members.

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in advanced FEA analysis in high-volume consumer electronic products and/or modules.
- High proficiency in Abaqus (Implicit & Explicit) or ANSYS, and Altair Hyperworks.
- Structural and thermal focus; non-linear FEA experience is highly desirable.
- Applied knowledge/experience with flex circuits, ACF bonding, adhesives, flat panel display, material science, and basic chemistry.
- Applied knowledge/experience with structural optimization based on FEA automation and/or machine learning is highly desired.
