Product Process Development Engineer

We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our Product and Process Development Engineering team at Foxconn. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for developing mechanical subassemblies and designing processes to enable high volume/low mix mass production of these components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive product development for various extruded, molded, forged, and cast parts.
  • Bring concepts into high volume/low mix mass production through multiple engineering production cycles.
  • Responsible for researching, developing, and scaling new mechanical subassemblies using Unigraphics and rapid prototyping.
  • Joint develop new designs and participate in theoretical calculations for component fit, tolerance analysis, FEA, and thermal and material flow.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary groups including, but not limited to, process engineers, tooling engineers, quality control engineers, and project managers.
  • Participate in reliability testing, conduct Design of Experiments (DOEs), and recommend Design for Manufacturing (DFM) concepts.
  • Communicate design and manufacturing concepts to other engineers and factory specialists in a clear and comprehendible manner.

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical, Materials Science, or similar technical field is required.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to Molding, 3D Printing, Stamping, Forging, and Casting processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of tool design a plus.
  • Fluency in JMP or other data analysis tools.
  • Some experience with CAD and GD&T is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of DOEs, DFMs, and FMEAs.
  • Must be detail oriented, proactive, and willing to work in a fast paced team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel overseas to China for 35-45% of the year.
