Position Summary:

We are in search of a part-time culinary specialist to prepare meals, frequently from scratch, adhering to our established recipes. Your primary objective will be to create high-quality hot or cold dishes that align with the specifications set by the chef or kitchen manager. Culinary specialists are vital in enhancing customer satisfaction and fostering kitchen development. This role will involve working days and nights, including weekends and holidays, with limited hours during the winter season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the cooking station and kitchen, ensuring all necessary ingredients are stocked for upcoming recipes.
  • Cook entrees, sides, and appetizers as required for each shift.
  • Report to the kitchen manager and adhere to provided instructions.
  • Ensure that food preparation and storage areas comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize food production equipment effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, workstations, and manage leftovers appropriately.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring timely and proper storage of deliveries.
  • Prepare and present menu items, exercising independent judgment in food quality and presentation.
  • Anticipate and prepare feature items for subsequent shifts.
  • Sanitize all kitchen surfaces at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Perform deep cleaning of kitchen equipment during downtime, including grills, ovens, and stoves.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar culinary role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of restaurant best practices and cooking techniques.
  • Proficient in safe knife handling.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and reliability skills.
  • Able to multitask effectively.
  • Must work collaboratively and efficiently as part of a team.
  • Flexible availability, including holidays and weekends as required.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
