Job Title: Building Automation Systems Specialist

At Brightwing, we are seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable professional with extensive experience in building controls systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, building automation protocols, and control systems programming languages such as PPCL.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, expand, and upgrade large campus-wide HVAC building controls systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Create, modify, and troubleshoot PPCL programs, databases, graphics, and alarms to meet specific system requirements.
  • Perform startup and commissioning of complete Building Automation Systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair field wiring and sensors, perform modifications to MBC's and PXC's, replace sensors, and reprogram components to resolve system issues.
  • Conduct periodic preventive maintenance to detect potential problems early and prevent equipment failure.
  • Analyze root causes of HVAC controls system malfunctions, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to enhance overall system performance.
  • Collaborate with installation subcontractors, coordinating work to ensure timely completion of projects according to code, standards, and contract requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience working with controls knowledge of AHU's, chiller plants, complex fan systems, and building controls head-ends.
  • Significant experience with multiple programming languages, including PPCL, C or C++, Basic, etc.
  • Familiarity with mechanical or HVAC equipment from technical school training or industry vendor certifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, building drawings, and technical guides.
  • Effective communication skills to progress, status, and issues to internal and external customers.
  • Interpersonal skills, telephone skills, patience, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organization skills, accuracy, time management, and ability to inspect work and know the status of all work.
  • A valid Driver's license in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Secret or L Clearance.
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school.

Estimated Annual Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 (dependent on location and experience).
