Position Summary
Turtle and Hughes is currently seeking a skilled individual for the role of Credit Analyst. This entry-level position is essential to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers regarding outstanding balances.
- Communicate with customers or sales representatives about short payments or disputed invoices.
- Reach out to overdue customers to facilitate payment collection.
- Review and manage orders that are on credit hold.
- Work to minimize delinquency and reduce bad debt losses through regular credit assessments.
- Establish and nurture relationships with customers to enhance service quality.
- Utilize lien and bond regulations as necessary to assist in collections.
- Provide credit and collection support for designated branches.
- Ensure timely communication with customers regarding payment requests.
- Familiarize yourself with applicable state tax regulations.
- Continuously monitor aging reports.
- Recommend account restrictions when appropriate.
- Verify that credit limits for existing customers are justified and defensible.
- Implement and maintain a systematic follow-up process.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred; however, a combination of relevant experience in credit management within the construction and industrial sectors may be considered.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis and process enhancement principles.
- Effective negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of construction or building materials is advantageous.
