Position Summary

Turtle and Hughes is currently seeking a skilled individual for the role of Credit Analyst. This entry-level position is essential to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers regarding outstanding balances.
  • Communicate with customers or sales representatives about short payments or disputed invoices.
  • Reach out to overdue customers to facilitate payment collection.
  • Review and manage orders that are on credit hold.
  • Work to minimize delinquency and reduce bad debt losses through regular credit assessments.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with customers to enhance service quality.
  • Utilize lien and bond regulations as necessary to assist in collections.
  • Provide credit and collection support for designated branches.
  • Ensure timely communication with customers regarding payment requests.
  • Familiarize yourself with applicable state tax regulations.
  • Continuously monitor aging reports.
  • Recommend account restrictions when appropriate.
  • Verify that credit limits for existing customers are justified and defensible.
  • Implement and maintain a systematic follow-up process.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred; however, a combination of relevant experience in credit management within the construction and industrial sectors may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis and process enhancement principles.
  • Effective negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction or building materials is advantageous.
