Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Taconic Health Care. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care by assisting with food preparation services while upholding strict sanitation and safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serves meals that meet established portion control procedures and therapeutic diets.
  • Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Keeps work area dry and free of hazards and sanitizes dining room tables and chairs.
  • Operates dish machine using proper sanitizing and safety techniques.
  • Washes pots and pans as per facility policies and procedures.
  • Places groceries, meats and supply items in appropriate storage areas as directed.
  • Transfers food trucks from dietary department to assigned areas in a safe and timely manner.
  • Follows all safety regulations, infection control/universal precautions, food safety regulations and facility policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes and maintains all equipment appropriately.
  • Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment and accident/incidents to shift supervisor.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum- some food service experience required
  • Previous dietary experience preferred
  • High degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene required; health status suitable for food service required
  • Ability to read and understand work assignments, as well as report verbally and provide written documentation as necessary
  • Respect for residents' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
Compensation and Benefits

$16.00 per hour. Our benefits package includes weekly paychecks, health, dental, and life insurance, referral bonuses, retirement/401k, flexible schedules, and more.
