Position Overview:
As a Mold Production Specialist, you will be responsible for operating a Mold In Cut to Length production line in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures. You will ensure adherence to quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Additionally, you will complete necessary documentation and perform various assigned tasks while meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the Mold-in production line, which combines various raw materials and cuts them to specified lengths, ensuring timely delivery and top-notch quality for our automotive clientele.
- The line comprises PLC (Human Interface) Computer, Hook Cutter, Ultrasonic welders, un-coilers, lamination stations, indexing units, and cut to length station.
- Follow established procedures for starting up, shutting down, and performing basic maintenance on line components.
- Execute all written and/or verbal instructions as directed by Supervisor/Lead.
- Prepare and label boxes/totes as necessary, sealing completed boxes and placing them on the conveyor.
- Continuously organize necessary materials (Raw and WIP) to ensure uninterrupted line operation.
- Inspect all raw materials prior to processing, marking and removing defective materials.
- Feed raw materials into the machine, ensuring they remain flat without twists or folds.
- Monitor the Mold-in line during production, checking for non-conformance as per documentation.
- Ensure consistent lengths during cutting by taking S.P.C. samples, measuring each piece, and recording the required data.
- Complete changeovers for various sizes and make necessary adjustments.
- Join material ends by heat sealing or using masking tape to maintain continuous machine operation.
- Maintain cleanliness of the line daily, including cutter die/knife and all sensors.
- Report any faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to Supervisor/Lead/Maintenance and record downtime.
- Ensure quality standards are upheld for all produced product lines.
- Adhere to safety regulations, including mandatory safety footwear, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
- Keep the work area and equipment orderly, disposing of waste and recyclable materials appropriately.
- Follow established Quality Control and Department procedures.
- Ensure compliance with production orders and control sheets for proper physical characteristics.
- Contribute to waste reduction and proper disposal of recyclable materials in line with environmental objectives.
- Familiarity with Quality (ISO/TS16949, ISO90001) and Environmental Standards is advantageous.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two years in manufacturing or related machine operation experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions; complete basic paperwork and perform data entry.
- Capability to manually maneuver Hook/M97 rolls (up to 35 lbs.) throughout the shift.
- Proficiency in using a computer and navigating web-based screens for data entry.
- Experience with Oracle-based data management systems or similar programs.
