Radiology Technologist

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Radiology Technologist is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care while conducting diagnostic imaging and related procedures. This role emphasizes the importance of adhering to radiation safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts diagnostic imaging and related procedures to accurately demonstrate anatomical structures for interpretation and intervention.
- Utilizes professional judgment to provide services, maintaining a demeanor that promotes high-quality care.
- Recognizes patient conditions and delivers appropriate care to ensure successful procedure outcomes.
- Complies with all relevant state and federal regulations for each imaging modality.
- Upholds the mission and strategic goals of Orlando Health.
- Evaluates the physical condition of patients, considering age-specific needs.
- Provides clear instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired imaging results.
- Ensures proper patient identification, collects clinical history, and accurately documents all information.
- Positions patients and equipment effectively, adjusting technical factors to capture high-quality images.
- Reviews diagnostic images for technical quality, ensuring proper annotation and patient identification.
- Implements radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Understands and adheres to Quality Control standards, participating in all related tasks.
- Demonstrates proficiency in administering contrast media and managing adverse reactions.
- Applies standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assists in supervising and training student technologists and new staff.
- Effectively utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems.
- Ensures the safety of all patients and staff.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies.
- Complies with all organizational policies, departmental guidelines, and educational requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment and equipment.
- Ensures work areas are well-stocked and orderly.
- Facilitates patient transport as needed.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure and Certification
- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist license from the State of Florida.
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Experience
No prior experience required.
